Visiting Pinedale, Wyoming

What town doesn’t have a nickname or motto? You know, New York’s Big Apple, Chicago’s Wind City or Missoula Montana’s Garden City? As for Pinedale, Wyoming, we don’t necessarily have a nickname, but we certainly do hold true to our motto: “All the civilization you’ll ever need”!! One is inevitably forced to confess that there is a considerable amount of truth to that statement upon spending any amount of time in this little mountain town. Whether you travel from Rock Springs, Salt Lake City or Jackson Hole, you will either encounter the spectacular Hoback canyon or the oddly beautiful high mountain desert, or both. Antelope, Mule Deer, Moose, Elk and Wild Mustangs are abundant as you traverse the wide open prairie and vast spreads of Black Angus Ranches. Pinedale is quietly situated 77 miles from Jackson Hole and one hundred miles from Rock Springs and I-80 and “all the civilization you’ll ever need” during your stay!

If what you’ve read about this amazing community up to now hasn’t completely satisfied your appetite for a memorable trip, one thing is certain to fill the last remaining void. You probably came “here” to get away from your “there” for a spell. Take a moment and step outside in the brisk morning mountain air. Take a deep breath of the pure clean breeze. While you’re standing there, or perhaps floating the river, stop for a bit and listen. What do you hear? Nothing but nature’s song. Sure, it’s a little chilly here in the morning and evening, but embrace the brisk solitude, the aroma of the river water, the stillness of quiet surroundings, the smiles from friendly locals knowing you’ve found the perfect getaway with all the civilization you need!!
